The Hit of a Lightning

The idea of creating a magazine came suddenly, like a flash of lightning.
There was a real need for a platform where students could share their ideas
and improve their English writing skills. From this need, the idea of creating a
magazine was formed to support students academically and linguistically.
Moreover, to create a platform that encourages students in RCYIC to share
their perspectives and develop their creative writing abilities.

The name of our magazine, Barq, was carefully selected for its powerful
meaning. Barq which refers to the first flash of lightning, symbolizes the
energy, the innovation and the clear vision. And it has been chosen to reflects
the most known fields in RCYCI which are electric engineering, computer
engineering, and computer science, representing both the electrical and
technical aspects of our academic environment.

The magazine’s logo also carries meaningful symbolism. The wave element in
the logo represents the coastal nature of Yanbu as an industrial city in Saudi
Arabia. The lighting element in the logo reflects the Arabic letter “ر”,
highlighting the connection between our Arabic identity, community, industry,
and academic environment.

What our magazine aims to specifically? Our magazine aims to provide
students with a platform to express their voices, share perspectives, and
present important ideas, especially in scientific and academic fields. The
magazine supports the development of English language skills by
encouraging the students to practice writing and communicate their ideas and
perspectives clearly and confidently.

In the end, Barq reflects the mission of education sector in RCYCI by
promoting knowledge, innovation, communication, and continuous growth.
